Welcome!

What do you do when jobs and such take your crafting buddies to far flung lands, rendering your weekly crafting night impossible?

Well, if you're me and Tara, you start a blog to encourage each other to keep crafting, and to try different things. We approach crafting from very different angles, with a few areas of overlap, like beading and scrapbooking, so our challenges to each other should be a lot of fun.

Here are how the challenges are going to work: We'll pick a challenge type, pick a deadline, and go nuts. The process will be visually documented via our Flickr group and the written component will be documented here.

Here are some of the Challenge types I'm envisioning:
1) The Craft Challenge: We pick a type of craft, like knitting, or papercraft, and have a set amount of time to complete it. Other than that, it's completely open.
2) The Theme Challenge: We pick a theme, like spring, or fuzzy, and must create an item that reflects that theme.
3) The Supply Challenge: We pick a supply, like a type of yarn, or Sculpey clay, and must create something with it.
4) The Technique Challenge or the Tutorial Challenge: We pick a technique, like embossing, or felting, and must create an item using that encorporates that technique. Or, we find a tutorial to follow.
5) The Grab Bag Challenge: We each create a craft kit, and then swap. We have to craft using the items in our kit.
6) The In Person Challenge: Reserved for those times when we are actually able to get together, when we will be given a much shorter block of time in which to create.

So...who wins, you ask? Truthfully, I think we both do. We get to learn new things, and push ourselves to be creative.
